No calendar will give the date,
No clock the hour can chime,
When Christ will come to be our Judge
And bring an end to time.

“Neither the day nor hour you know,”
“so stay awake” warned Christ.
The Son of Man will close the door
To those who showed no light.

So, though we long and watch and wait,
We still must heed Christ’s call
To feed and clothe and care for those
Whose needs should shame us all.

We know the Advent of Our Lord
The pow’r of sin will stay.
Let’s also pray we will reflect
Christ’s love for us today.
